"Yes, I have the same case. But putting FNU in ds160 leads to loads of problems in the US. Your SSN will contain fnu as well which will be a big problem while getting ur driving license which is the only proof that we have over here apart from the passport. I am still stuck and was refused a driving license because of fnu in my name."

What is CPT on F1 Visa?
CPT is defined as employment which is an integral part of an established curriculum, including: “alternate work/study, internship, cooperative education, or any other type of required internship or practicum which is offered by sponsoring employers through cooperative agreements with the school.”
CPT is available only before the completion of your degree program
And you must have a job offer at the time of application.
CPT employment may not delay completion of the academic program.
Who tracks a CPT student’s hours? Is the government automatically tracking how many hours I am working, or am I to submit my pay stubs to my DSO? Want to make sure I’m following correct protocol. Who is responsible for knowing how many hours I work and how will they receive that information?

My name is Saikiran, I have this one question which I didn’t think was important for the F1 Visa group, but it’s to me. One of my colleagues was asking me today what ID do I have if police stops me and asks for one.
My OPT expired last week and I don’t have a license nor a state ID. All I have is expired ead, a temp license and my passport which I don’t carry.
I have applied for my OPT EXTENSION about 45 days ago and received the receipt. I know I should have known better, it’s just that I never thought why I would get stopped.
I take Uber everyday to work and didn’t think it was important. I don’t know if you have time to see this, but any help would be so appreciated.
The reason I really want to know this is, my colleague kind of questioned my lawful stay here.

Hi All,
I am on H1B in the US and it's my first year into H1B, so that means I have at least 2 years left on H1B. Now, I am planning to do 1 year MS in CS, and have following questions:
1. Will my H1B remaining period be valid after 1 year?
2. If yes, how many years on H1B will be left post MS?
3. May my employer request for an extension as well, later on, post MS?
Thanks in advance,

I am sure the employer did not file my H1b, how can I get some clarity that he did not file my H1B Visa. Another possibility than check cashing (because I am not sure of their bank accounts) or will denial notice will have my name on it, what will be the best way to question him..!!

Under the “H1B Visa Transfer” section you mentioned, “You don’t have the luxury of changing after H1B is approved for 6 months or so.”
Could you explain more what does it mean? Can’t I wait to get the H1B transfer approved and then change the employer?
Also, can you please tell how long does it take usually to receive the confirmation receipt of the H1B transfer application?
Thanks!
